May is National Tennis Month! To celebrate this awesome sport, here is what we have going on this month, with links attached:

86th Annual Jayhawk Open Community Event
Come one, come all, to the 86th Annual Jayhawk Open Community Event at Kossover! The event will happen on Friday, June 5th from 5:00pm-10:00pm. Please come out and support a great cause, AND enjoy the amazing facility! We can’t wait to see everyone there for an awesome Friday night! *All proceeds for the event go towards supporting the Topeka Tennis Association Junior Tennis Scholarship fund.
5:00pm - Kids Matchplay / Game Night
Expect FUN tennis point play, games, and matches. Ages 5-9 will run 5pm-6pm and costs $10. Ages 10+ will run from 5pm-7pm and the cost is $15. Click the link to sign up!
5:30pm - Open House Showcase & Doubles Final
The will be a presentation about recognizing the new facility updates at Kossover. Following the presentation, the doubles final for the Jayhawk Open money tournament will begin. View the Jayhawk Open Tournament bracket & schedule!
6:00pm - Adult Doubles Scramble & FREE COOKOUT!
Sign up with a partner to get out and compete in timed doubles matches from 6:00-7:30pm. All levels, pairings, and teams are welcome. The cost is $25 per team. Click the link to sign up!
The cookout will run from 6-8pm. Hot dogs, hamburgers and fixins will be served!
7:00pm - Live Band
Then to conclude a fantastic evening, Topeka’s very own “Live Stereo” will be performing until 10pm!
Kids Games/Matchplay Night - 86th Annual Jayhawk Open Community Event
Friday nights are for the kids! Expect FUN tennis point play, games, and matches for this pop-up event. This matchplay night is a part of our 86th Annual Jayhawk Open Community event; all proceeds will go towards the Topeka Tennis Association Youth Tennis Scholarship Fund.
Red/Orange ball group is for ages 5-9 and is from 5:00-6:00pm. Cost: $10. Sign up here!
Our Green/Yellow ball group is for ages 10+ and is from 5:00-7:00pm. Cost: $15. Sign up here!
While your child is playing, there will be a ton of awesome activities for the adults to enjoy as well. Plus, there will be a FREE cookout starting at 6pm AND live music starting at 7pm. Check out full event schedule here.
Adult Doubles Scramble - 86th Annual Jayhawk Open Community Event
Enjoy an evening of doubles! Sign up with a partner to compete in timed doubles matches. All types of pairings are welcome, and the cost is $25 per team. All proceeds go towards the Topeka Tennis Association Youth Tennis Scholarship Fund. Click here to sign up for the scramble!

National Tennis Day 2026
It’s National Tennis Day! We will be celebrating this day three ways:
Free court time - we’ll be waiving all court fees on this day, come out and enjoy the courts!
Bring a Friend to Class - all junior participants in our classes on this day can bring a friend for FREE to their class!
Tennis Night Out - enjoy a discounted ($10!!!) pop-up adult drill from 6:00pm-7:30pm. Everyone is welcome! Sign up here.
Cinco De Mayo Tennis Social
Let’s celebrate this Cinco de Mayo on the tennis court! Have fun with us in our first adult social tennis event of the year. We’ll play tennis games (coaches will jump in too!!), socialize over some chips and dip, and have an amazing Friday night!
The event is for adults only, and is from 6:00-8:00pm. All levels of players are welcome, we’ll group players based on tennis ability. Cost: $15
